Sanden to start collaboration research and development with Nidec for automotive thermal management system
Improve cruising distance by integrating exhaust heat from motor and air-conditioning thermal management

Sanden Holdings Corporation (hereinafter referred to as “SDHD”) announced today that SDHD to start collaboration research and development with Nidec Corporation (hereinafter referred to as “Nidec”)

It is said that vehicles will shift from internal combustion engine cars to electric cars. One of the challenges electric cars are facing is its short cursing distance. In particular, the use of air conditioners and other electronic components has a significant impact on the cruising distance. To address this issue, SDHD will combine its air-conditioning expertise with Nidec's traction motor and inverter expertise to accelerate the development and commercialization of an integrated thermal management system for air-conditioning and drive systems for future electric vehicles. (Sales target: 2022).

SDHD has developed its Mid Term Management Plan (SCOPE2023) and has adopted the basic policy of "collaborative creation to achieve sustainable growth. SDHD will expand our business by building technologies in new areas such as vehicle heat management by responding to the new technological trends in the automotive industry, CASE, through collaborative creation.
