Fundamental Approach to the Customers

One of the tenets of the Management Principles of the Sanden Group is “Satisfy our customers’ needs with high-quality products.” With this as a starting point, the basic philosophy toward customers in the Corporate Philosophy is “To always provide attractive products, systems, and services that satisfy customers globally, in the belief that quality comes first in our technological development and manufacturing efforts.” In these processes, as a manufacturer, we are promoting activities with an awareness on issues, not only improving the quality of products as resulting quality, but also bringing about improvements in the quality of operations in every process.
To contribute to the protection of the environment, we are also promoting the development of new technologies and products that precisely meet the environmental needs of our customers around the world.

Sanden Quality Management Policy

Quality management activity is one of the pillars of our employees’ activities that support the Sanden Group Corporate Philosophy.
Under the slogan of “SHIFT,” designed to achieve the goals set in the Vision and the Mission, we have applied the Sanden Quality Management Policy globally and promoted quality improvement activities in coordination with each manufacturing site.

Continuing to bolster the foundation for improvement

With the founding spirit of “Let Us Develop with Wisdom and Prosper in Harmony” as a basic philosophy, we have continued to foster a corporate culture of taking on challenges and reforms. Improvement and reform activities on the basis of employee activities are underpinned by the Sanden Group Corporate Philosophy and are a universal feature of corporate activities.
In top-down project activities, specialists in each function work together to carry out improvements and reforms with a sense of speed. We have established and implemented an award system for projects with significant results and other incentive programs to enhance the motivation of employees.
Additionally, as part of our bottom-up initiatives, we have been conducting small-group activities since 1989. Teams selected through internal presentations are sent to external competitions, where they gain inspiration from the practices of other companies, further elevating their improvement efforts. We also facilitate the global sharing of information and the horizontal spread of best practices to elevate our global standards of improvement.

Declaring 2023 to be the “Year of Quality,” we launched the following four activities to implement our "Customer First" and "Quality First" principles.

As a specialized manufacturer, develop proposal-based products and pursue quality in the upstream of new product development

As a result of these activities, we received quality awards and high quality evaluations from customers. We will further promote these activities in 2024 and beyond so that we can continue to offer safe, secure, and attractive products to customers.

Development System

The Sanden Group has set out a vision to “become the world’s leading supplier of automotive thermal systems and vehicle compressors.”
To become an essential system partner for environmental cars, we are developing state-of-the-art environmental products using the technologies we have cultivated to date with our integrated thermal management systems at the core. These products include small, light, and highly efficient compressors, electric compressors, electric coolant heaters (ECH), small and light HVAC systems for automobiles, and heat pump systems.
In addition, we are concentrating resources in the environmental products field and accelerating the speed of research and development through active cooperation with other companies by receiving various types of business support from the capital and business alliance partner Hisense Group, such as technological know-how and necessary resources in areas such as internet connection of vehicles, and air-conditioning control systems using AI.
Through these efforts, we are working toward the realization of a smart cabin, which senses the comfort level inside the cabin by using various camera/sensor-based V2X technology and a Driver Monitoring System and controls the in-cabin environment by using AI so that the driver and passengers can feel comfort.
In advanced development, we are conducting research and development of integrated heat management systems for next-generation environmental vehicles and the elemental technologies that form the basis for these systems.
On the other hand, to respond to the diversifying global markets in recent years and to ensure that the value demanded by customers is reflected in our products, we are accelerating development activities in four global poles (Japan, Europe, North America, Asia/China) and proactively offering new product and technology proposals to customers. At the same time, we are striving to further increase customer value through globally integrated development that broadly expands technical support such as material technology, reliability technology, and production technology.
