Mr. Nakayama receives a Commendation by the Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare.

December 17, 2008News Release

On November 17, Mr. Shun-ichi Nakayama, an associate senior manager, of Manufacturing Division of Sanden Corporation received a commendation from the Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare at an award ceremony held at the Meiji Kinenkan in the Minato Ward of Tokyo. The commendation was for distinguished work in the field of occupational skills development.

The commendation is the national level and is given by the Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare to those who have great and long-lasting contributions through proficiency testing for the sake of occupational skills development in their work as a model member of businesses, organizations or testing committees. A total of 96 persons were chosen for this commendation this year.

The Expert Level Vending Machine Adjustment Exam with which Mr. Nakayama has been involved has only a handful of qualified personnel nationwide, and it is a great honor to have his long-term achievements recognized. The recommendation for his selection came from the Japan Vocational Ability Development Association, which promotes proficiency testing, rather than from the prefectural government, and is proof of the efficacy of Sanden's development of human resources proficient in vending machines.

The Akagi Plant of Sanden Corporation is involved in the development of vending machines with a constant emphasis on creativity, allowing it to deliver quality products to customers throughout the world, as evinced by its slogan of "Contributions to the Environment / Creativity / Society." With this commendation as a source of encouragement, Sanden Corporation will continue to contribute to society through its promotion of occupational skills development.
